Gary,to me this just shows how remarkable Maradona’s performance was in 86. A time when (as you know) skillful players were kicked and stifled at every opportunity. His every touch in that tournament was magic, and I mean every touch, every time he got the ball, there was a skillful pass, a wonderful flick or a brilliant run. Messi is undoubtedly the best player in the world and I agree hes the closest thing to Maradona that we’ve seen since the great man. However, his performances in this world cup have been poor. He scored a couple of terrific goals but hes just looks disinterested most of the time and thats something that I never saw when Diego played, even during his bad times. If Argentina win, there will be many that will be screaming about how he is Diego’s equal or even better, but im afraid his performances during this campaign will prove that to be sheer and utter nonsense.

    All the best!
